The presentation takes place five evenings a week in the Five Degrees North bar and lounge. The next afternoon, enjoy a snorkelling excursion with our marine biologist – a unique way to discover the underwater world of the Maldives.

Diving

Maldives is known internationally as one of the world’s best dive destinations. A large number of excellent dive sites, including marine-protected sites, are located near the Resort and transfers are carried out by specially equipped dive dhonis. The Resort operates its own Dive Centre, licensed by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). A multilingual team of dive instructors offers courses for beginners and advanced divers, as well as leading daily dive trips. Underwater photography and videography services are also available.
Orientation dive
You are required to participate in an orientation dive before engaging in boat diving activities if you have not been diving within the last three months and/or have less than 30 logged dives. Orientation dives are conducted daily in the lagoon. Please present your certification card and log book when you register for diving.
All divers are advised to refrain from diving 12 hours after or 24 hours before international flights. A medical questionnaire must be completed prior to your first dive at either one of our Four Seasons Maldives resorts. Depending on your responses to the questionnaire, you may be required to pass a complimentary medical examination with our doctor.
Diving for beginners
Discover scuba diving
Experience the thrill of diving under the close supervision of our PADI instructor. This three-hour course consists of a theory briefing and a confined water session of up to 12 metres (40 feet). Participants in this course must be over 12 years of age.

If you would eventually like to attain PADI certification but do not want to invest four days of your vacation, the Scuba Diver Certification is the best way to get started. Over 1.5 days, you will complete a series of theory courses, three confined water dives and two ocean dives and will receive credit towards the completion of the PADI Open Water Certification Course. This certification also qualifies you to dive under the supervision of a dive professional to a depth of 12 metres (40 feet). Participants must be at least 12 years old and must be able to swim.
Open Water Certification Course
PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses are offered in Japanese, German, Russian, and English. Spa

The Spa and Ayurvedic Retreat, a resort in itself, provides a comprehensive approach to physical, spiritual and mental well-being, with a special emphasis on yoga and ayurveda. Secluded open-air treatment areas make the lush tropical setting an integral part of the relaxation and treatment process.
The spa complex
Located in the heart of the island and stretching down to sea, the spa complex occupies an elevated 1-hectare (2.5-acre) site, with 10 individual thatched treatment pavilions – four over water, three in a lush garden setting and three in the Ayurvedic Retreat. Set over crystal waters, each water pavilion has an attached steam room and deep bath that overlooks the ocean, while each garden treatment villa has a steam room and outdoor shower. Guests aged 16 and above are welcome to enjoy our spa treatments.
Numerous pathways throughout the beautiful surrounding gardens allow for leisurely walks pre- and post-treatment. The spa also incorporates a beauty salon, juice bar, beachfront resting pavilion and retail area.
Yoga
Yoga at the Resort is a magical experience. Our resident yogi guides beginners and experienced followers through inspiring morning meditation and evening enlightenment sessions from a pavilion that “floats” on the sea. Private sessions are available, and the yogi welcomes all guests for discussions on this ancient spiritual practice.
Ayurvedic Retreat
Situated within the spa complex, the Ayurvedic Retreat, a first for Four Seasons, is designed to stimulate its guests into thinking about, experimenting with and understanding the fundamental philosophical approach to ayurveda. The Resort has worked closely with experts from nearby Kerala, India, to ensure this ancient science of life has been successfully transported to the Maldives. These experienced Keralan and Sri Lankan therapists and ayurvedic physicians are highly trained professionals in ayurveda, including diet, body type, patient approach and the practice of yoga and meditation.
The Ayurvedic Retreat has three individual treatment pavilions designed to take guests on a journey through the physical, nutritional and emotional benefits of the ayurvedic system. In each treatment pavilion, furnished with wooden ayurvedic tables, traditional herbal bathtubs, steam benches and an area for mud treatments, guests are treated to physical and spiritual rejuvenation.
Besides introducing the myriad possibilities ayurveda offers, guests will also learn to integrate some of the processes into their daily lives. At the herbal centre, fragrant gardens are planted with medicinal herbs, trees and flowers. Here, guests can learn about the various oils and herbal concoctions used in the ayurvedic process. The Resort's resident ayurvedic physician is available to advise on healthier lifestyle options and to design dosha-specific meal plans in cooperation with the Resort’s ayurvedic chef, for guests who wish to experience this ancient science throughout the duration of their stay.
Another specialty is the panchakarma procedure, a series of five therapies that comprises ayurveda’s primary purification and detoxification treatment. Due to the complexity of these treatments and the associated detoxification diet that is essential to its success, the procedure is offered as a 14-day package only.
